Dreams Come True of Louisiana, Inc. was formed in early 1982. The original intent of the organization was to provide “dreams” for local children with terminal illnesses under the age of eightteen. Our by-laws have since been amended to provide “dreams” for children from the ages of three to twenty-one, who have life-threatening illnesses and have not had a wish or dream provided to them by another organization. Examples of dreams we grant include trips to Disney World, computers and shopping sprees.
Dreams Come True of Louisiana, Inc. is an organization comprised solely of volunteers. It has a twelve member Board of Directors that includes executive offices of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Once approved, our interview committee visits with the child and his/her family to determine the child’s “dream”. Volunteer Coordinators get to work immediately to ensure that the child’s “Dreams Come True." |

Eleanor Roosevelt once wrote “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams,” but sometimes the beauty of dreams is lost when a child is caught up in the struggle against life threatening illnesses.
Our mission is to attempt to restore the beauty of the dreams of some very special children who have life-threatening illnesses, by making their most cherished Dreams Come True.
While granting these “dreams”, we hope to provide happiness, support and encouragement to these very special children and their families as they struggle to endure and cope with the hardships that life-threatening illnesses bring.
